- All units are prelodged via GVMS and you will use the created GMR in our Stena Line booking system
- Select UK Customs procedure:
- For imports pls select “UK Import declaration & Empty’ or “Prelodgement & Empty” (both will steer to prelodgement)
- For transit pls select: “Transit – Office of Transit”
- Any unit using our departures after 01-01-2022 00:00h has this GMR upon check in
- Please note that the vehicle registration must be completely identical otherwise the unit will be refused upon arrival at check in

2. NEW Unaccompanied units via GVMS (westbound only) and please ensure that

3. Unaccompanied units via UK Port Inventory linked/Temporary Storage (westbound only) and please ensure that
- You are connected to Portbase (MED)
- All cargo is declared in the ENS via the Stena Line booking system
- Please note that the vehicle registration must be completely identical otherwise the unit will be refused upon arrival at check in
- In the Stena Line booking system
- In Port base
- Select UK Customs procedure: “UK import declaration & Empty’ (do NOT choose ‘Prelodgement & Empty’, as for unaccompanied that will steer to prelodgement).
- Only after selecting ‘UK import declaration & Empty’ you are able to confirm the consignment information (both Stena Line freight portal and eConnect). Consignment information needs to be confirmed prior check-in
- You will not use option for (GVMS instead)
- Transit Cargo
- Ata/TIR Carnet
- Army/NATO cargo
- Postal/Royal mail
- Return Empty packaging
- Declaration by Conduct
- EIDR
IMPORTANT
4. Information T1 documents
As from 01-01-2022 Stena Line will no longer support the “Office of Destination status” in the Port in the UK anymore. This is important for any goods moving under T1 Status.
There will be 2 options:
- The transport of cargo will be accompanied by the T1 doc, but you will end the document in Rotterdam
- You create a Notification Export Document (MED) with Portbase with document type RT1/TG1 or RT2/TG2
- This document is closed with the standard integration with Portbase upon sailing close
- For accompanied:
- You select UK Customs procedure “UK Import declaration & Empty’, or ‘Prelodgement & Empty”
- You will add the GMR to the booking prior check-in (=prelodgement)
- Customs Clearance will take place at arriving Port
- Prelodged unit will be released upon arrival
- For unaccompanied via prelodgement model
- You select UK Customs procedure: ‘Prelodgement & Empty” (= prelodgement option for unaccompanied)
- You will add the GMR to the booking prior check-in (=prelodgement)
- Customs Clearance will take place at arriving Port
- Prelodged unit will be released upon arrival
- For unaccompanied via temporary storage model
- You select UK Customs procedure “UK Import declaration & Empty’ (= temporary storage option for unaccompanied)
- You will complete the consignment information prior check-in
- Release in the port is subject to Customs Clearance in Destin8 by declarant
- The transport of cargo will be accompanied by the T1 doc, but you will end the document at an INLAND destination in the UK
- You create a Notification Export Document (MED) with Portbase with document type T1 or T2
- Customs clearance follows the default Transit procedure
- Customer selects UK Customs procedure “Transit – Office of Transit”
- Customer adds GMR to the booking
- Units will be released upon arrival
- NEW Information on Trailer collection procedure Harwich
- Customers collecting trailers in Harwich will need to use the PIN number being the last 7 digits of the Stena Line booking number
