Should you still need guidance on requirements for transportation of goods from 1 January 2021 we recommend you to check-out our Brexit website. The site includes details about what you need to take into consideration or action on before and from 1 January 2021 when shipping with us on the Irish Sea and North Sea.
In particularly we would like to draw your attention to the Common Transit Convention (CTC) and the Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) Haulier information.
As a special service for our freight customers our experienced team has produced two extensive post-transition freight process flows, one covering the Irish Sea and one the North Sea. Both documents explain the booking and shipping processes required to meet the customs models and associated roles and responsibilities that will apply on the two seas following Brexit.
You will also find an instruction guide on how to add customs information and how to check the status of your bookings. If you are shipping goods from Great Britain to Northern Ireland from 1 January 2021 using our routes to Belfast you will need a pre-arrival customs channel routing check for your GMR. Please be informed that your driver will be able to look up the GMR status directly via the top menu on our website from 1 January 2021. The GMR check is intended to be a quick look up function in the event that your driver is unable to access customs/SPS routing decision directly. Channel information through this facility does not replace or override routing decisions available on official UK Government systems. It is your responsibility to take reasonable steps to access and act on your channel routing via these systems.
Our Brexit site also includes customs advice for freight drivers and it is of utmost importance that both your drivers and yourself are aware of the fact that FREIGHT VEHICLES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED INTO ANY OF OUR PORTS WITHOUT THE CORRECT DOCUMENTATION.
