Intermodal rail connections from Verona and Bettembourg via Rostock and Trelleborg to Eskilstuna and Oslo/Alnabru are part of the intermodal solutions we offer. On our two ships on the route, Skåne and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern we also ship direct trains, e.g. steel wagons that cannot roll overland without being divided.
HSL Logistik has been handling the shunting work for our company in Rostock for several months and the cooperation has now been consolidated in a joint framework agreement with one common ambition; a strategic focus on sustainable transport solutions. HSL Logistik will continue to handle the shunting work for our rail connections in the Port of Rostock and from the autumn 2021 we plan to start using use innovative and sustainable hybrid locomotives, where no overhead lines are used. This will potentially reduce the diesel fuel consumption in the operation by 50 per cent.
