The new route accommodates the increasing demand of our freight customers for seamless transports between Nynäshamn, Sweden and Hanko, Finland with three weekly departures in each direction and a 13 hours crossing time.
By establishing a floating bridge between Central Sweden and Southern Finland, we take the next exciting step in our ambition to further expand and strengthen our position in the Baltic Sea and beyond.
On the day of launch ‘Urd’ departed from Nynäshamn, watched by a group of politicians and business leaders – of course in a Covid-19 safe manner. Starting with the three departures per week, the new route will be joined by Stena Gothica in the beginning of May and the route will then be served with daily departures from both ports.
‘Making a new route a success requires hard work, a dedicated team and entrepreneurial approach. A big thank you to everyone involved for their solutions focus and commitment. So far, the market response has been very positive which shows that we made the right decision’, says Johan Edelman, Trade Director Baltic Sea North Stena Line.
