Whilst this downtime mainly affects NCTS users and their ability to create Transit Accompanying Document (TAD)/NCTS records, this may also affect hauliers creating Goods Movement References (GMRs).
Hauliers using the GVMS
GVMS will remain online during the NCTS downtime and in most cases, there will be minimal impact for anyone using the service. However, there is a possibility that you may not be able to complete all your usual GVMS actions if you are completing a GMR that requires TAD Movement Reference Number (MRNs) to be entered for goods being moved under the Common Transit Convention (CTC).
Completing GMRs that require TAD MRNs
To ensure you can validate any CTC movements we recommend you avoid completing GMRs that require TAD MRNs during the downtime period.
If you need to complete a GMR during the NCTS outage then please ensure any MRNs you add have been created in NCTS by your declarant and released in advance of 23:59 hours on the 30 October.
If you still encounter problems, please wait until the downtime period has ended and try again.
