Updates available on ICS2
Please be aware that updates have been introduced since the posting of this article. Read more here
Instead of sending the ENS directly to the customs office in the country of entry, all member countries will transmit the details to a centralised EU system, the Shared Trader Interface. Moreover, additional information will need to be provided within the ENS. The primary objective of ICS2 is to enhance the safety, security, and supervision of goods entering the EU.
What does this mean for you?
Once ICS2 is implemented, you will need to provide additional details in the ENS. In addition to the existing requested data, you will be obligated to provide the following information per consignment (highlighted in bold):
- Sender & Receiver
- Customs status
- Buyer & Seller:
- Name and address details (mandatory)
- EORI (optional)
- HS code: 6 digits (instead of goods description)
- Package type, number of colli and gross weight
- Veterinary: yes/no
The exact implementation date will be communicated once confirmed by the relevant authorities.
