A three-day week service for freight and travel customers between Rosslare-Cherbourg will be provided by Stena Horizon offering a choice of up to six crossings per week.
We will selectively deploy additional support vessels to the route during periods of peak demand from our freight and travel customers.
This decision has been taken in line with our business model of deploying vessels where they will deliver the most efficient use of our company’s resources. We can confirm that there will be no job losses in the ports as a result of this decision and we will be making every effort to absorb the crew into our company. Our affected freight customers will be informed about this decision and of alternative arrangements.
Stena Vision is not a suitable to ship to operate on the Rosslare – Cherbourg route all year round so an operational adjustment has been made.
Stena Vision will be withdrawn from service on 27 October 2024, and we are currently considering plans for the future of vessel.
We will be assessing market demand and provide suitable ships on the route to meet our customers’ needs.
There will no job losses in the ports of Rosslare and Cherbourg. Every effort is being made to absorb our Stena Vision crew into the business and find other roles for them on other vessels.
